There are no right or wrong answers. The purpose is simply to begin exploring the story you wish to preserve.

You are warmly encouraged to gather and share meaningful and sentimental objects that may help inspire your Legacy Couture Portrait during the consultation and planning process. These may include family heirlooms, jewellery, letters, books, textiles, artwork, photographs, or other items that hold personal significance and help tell your story.

Indeed, it would be our honour to incorporate such treasures into the creative process. These deeply personal details often become some of the most meaningful elements within a portrait and are one of the reasons Legacy Couture Portraits are so cherished by our clients. They transform an artwork from a beautiful image into a lasting reflection of a life, a story, and the people and memories that matter most.

Where appropriate, these objects may also be incorporated into the portrait session itself, adding an additional layer of meaning and symbolism to the finished artwork. We kindly ask that any items brought to the session are suitable for transport and handling and are not excessively fragile or at risk of damage.

Every reasonable care will be taken to ensure your treasured belongings are handled respectfully and with the utmost care throughout the commission process. However, if an item holds significant financial, historical, or sentimental value, we recommend arranging appropriate insurance coverage prior to its use within the commission.

Wardrobe plays an important role in shaping the visual narrative of a portrait.

Depending on your commission, this may include garments from your existing wardrobe, heirloom pieces, meaningful accessories, or a made-to-order couture garment commissioned through The Vintage Couturière.

Styling recommendations will be provided throughout the planning process to ensure every element works harmoniously together.

Professional hair and makeup services may be recommended depending on the nature of your commission.

The objective is never transformation, but rather refinement—helping you feel confident, comfortable, and authentically yourself in front of the camera.
